ARCHITECT'S AND ENGINEER'S SPECIFICATIONS
The amplifier coupler shall be a zero-loss device with a power reactor and internal, nonadjustable, balancing-resistor circuitry. It shall parallel-couple the 70V output of 2 power amplifiers of the same type and power rating, and channel the sum of their outputs into a single, common load. If one amplifier fails, the coupler shall effectively isolate the failed amplifier from the load and the operating amplifier, and continue sound system operation without interruption and with not more than 6 dB power loss to the load. Power range shall be selectable, by strapping, for amplifiers with 40-50, 80-100,150-200 or 300-400 watts of output capacity and for zones loaded to 80-100, 160-200, 300-400 or 600-800 watts. Front panel jacks shall enable system monitoring by means of an ac voltmeter or headphones. The amplifier coupler shall be black in color, 19 " W x 5.25" H x 4.5" D and shall weigh 12 pounds.
