DESCRIPTION

The new Altec Lansing D658 dynamic microphone is designed for the performer. An economical yet handsome product, the D658 combines high output level and smooth frequency response. The D6511 has a cardioid pattern that especially emphasizes low frequencies when working in close to the microphone. This "proximity effect" creates a deep robust timbre and allows the user to control the bass emphasis "live" during the performance by varying his distance from the microphone. It also reduces low-frequency feedback, making the D658 an exceptionally effective microphone for stage, public address and nightclub use.

A new head design is featured providing wide linear frequency response allowing greater gain before feedback. An extremely effective shock absorber isolates the transducer assembly thus eliminating much of the handling noise associated with other microphones. A special internal pop filter allows the singer or speaker to work the microphone closely without fear of "Ppopping" and also prevents dirt and magnetic particles from accumulating on the diaphragm. Finally, an on/off switch is included for performer control.
