KEY FEATURES
• Wide Frequency Response
• Small Diameter Gooseneck
• Back Electret Element
• Low Handling Noise
• Phantom Powerable
The Altec Lansing SLIM 12 and SLIM 18 miniature gooseneck microphones are ideal for use in all situations where podium microphones are required. They are phantom-powered "back-electret" condenser microphones with high sensitivity, wide frequency response and superior immunity to handling noise. The units are designed for easy and attractive mounting on lecterns, podiums and pulpits using the optional flange mount kit (SLIM FMK).
The housing is machined steel for ruggedness and superior EMI/RFI reduction. The gooseneck has two supple joints and a rigid center tube. The rigid tube prevents unsightly twisting of the gooseneck,
but permits exact positioning of the microphone. A low-frequency roll-off switch is provided to control the proximity effect for close talkers.
The 3/4 inch base is terminated in an XLR type 3pin type connector allowing the microphone to be plugged into existing panel mounted XLR receptacles. The electronic's output design employs a special hum-bucking transformer to further reduce magnetic pickup from lighting or electrical power sources. The low output impedance allows use with very long cable runs. The added length of the SLIM 18 provides extra reach for use on large podiums.
