ARCHITECT'S and ENGINEER'S SPECIFICATIONS SLIM 12 The gooseneck microphone shall be of the back electret type with a frequency response of 70 to 20,000 Hz and a cardioid pattern. The microphone shall have a 150 ohm balanced output, with an output level of -43 dB where 0 dB = I mW/Pascal at 1000 Hz. The open circuit voltage shall be 4.5 mV/Pascal at 1000 Hz. The dynamic range shall be at least 117 dB. The equivalent noise shall be equal or better than 23 dB SPL "A" weighted where 0 dB = 20 micro Pascals. The back electret element shall not be appreciably affected by humidity extremes or by temperature extremes between -20 degrees fahrenheit (-29 degrees centigrade) and 135 degrees fahrenheit (57 degrees centigrade). A switchable low frequency roll-off filter having an "fo" of 130 Hz and a slope rate of 12 dB/octave shall be provided. The gooseneck shall consist of two flexible sections separated by a single rigid section. The overall length of the gooseneck and head assembly shall be 11.6 inches and shall not exceed 0.45 inches in diameter. The electronics module portion of the microphone shall not exceed 0.75 inches and shall contain a standard A3M type connector. It shall be possible to power the unit from any phantom power supply providing from 9 to 52 volts dc. It shall be possible to mount the microphone using the connector or by using the model SLIM FMK accessory mounting flange. The gooseneck microphone shall be the Altec Lansing model SLIM 12.
